In a close game the Jefferson Park Penguins got by the Nimrod Numnuts in 10
innings by the score of 4 to 2.
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Jefferson Park
ended up winning it in the 10th inning. Mike Cameron led off and started the
attack as he drew a walk. Chris Young stepped into the batter's box and he
laid down a sacrifice bunt. Derek Jeter then drew a walk. Cameron proceeded
to steal third base. Akinori Iwamura came to the plate and drew a walk to
load the bases. Lance Berkman continued the rally and doubled. Manny
Ramirez next to the plate and he was walked intentionally. Both teams
totaled 9 hits on the afternoon.
The win was credited to Hong-Chih Kuo(4-2) who went 3 innings allowing no
runs. Takashi Saito got the save, his 2nd. Renyel Pinto(2-3) was hit with
the loss in relief.
